K.S. Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA) is a medical college in Deralakatte, near the city of Mangalore. It is managed by the Nitte Education Trust, which runs a number of professional colleges in the state of Karnataka. The college offers the MBBS course along with post-graduation courses. The Academy was affiliated to RGUHS (Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences) till 2009. Now it is affiliated to NITTE University.
The KS Hegde Hospital, is a full fledged 1000 bed hospital attached to the Institute. The hospital has state-of-the-art facilities in Anaesthesiology, Dermatology, ENT, General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Radiology and TB, Chest & Respiratory diseases.
The First Alumni, Meet of K.S.Hegde Medical Academy was organised on the 4th November 2017 at K.S.Hegde Auditorium. Prof. K. Byrappa, Vice Chancellor, Mangalore University was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Sri.N.V.Hegde , Chancellor, Nitte University presided over the function . Dr.Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor, Nitte University was the Guest of honour. Dean, K.S.Hegde Medical Academy, Dr.Satheesh Kumar Bhandary briefed on the growth of the institution from its inception since 1999. The Alumni’s from the year 1999 to 2011 were present on this occasion. Dr.Nirmal Babu, President Alumni Association welcomed the gathering, Dr.Nikhil S Shetty, Secretary introduced the souvenir ‘SMARAN’ which carries back to nostalgic moment of the Alumni in the campus. Dr. Nikhil M.P. the Vice President of Alumni Association delivered the vote of thanks.
